Quick Quiz.

On this day in 1981, MTV was first broadcast.  The first video aired was Video Killed the Radio Star.  Who was the band that recorded it?  To those born on this day…

Roman Emperor Claudius in 10BC.  He had a bit of a stutter , was deaf and walked with a limp.  These afflictions probably saw him survive to become emperor  by default – he was never seen as a serious threat.  He turned out to be a damn fine emperor and, compared to the other 15 rulers of the times, had a very unusual sex life… he preferred to only take women as lovers.

Moby Dick author, Herman Melville in 1819…

The very funny Dom DeLuise in 1935…

Olympics… not a fabulous day in the pool – congrats to Alicia Coutts on her Silver and Bronte Barratt for getting Bronze.  James Magnussen looks good for Gold tomorrow.  We’ll see.  Phelps got another Gold and a Silver for the US.
